Here's What Mercy Really Looks Like
Good morning Brothers! Happy Sabbath. Praise God for waking you up this morning. God loves you. I love you. Take a moment to give someone a hug today. As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.(Matthew 3:16-17). Let’s sing, Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty! Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee; Holy, holy, holy! merciful and mighty! God in three persons, blessed Trinity! Today’s verse is from Luke 6:36. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. What would you do if you ran into someone who offended, upset, or greatly wronged you? The outward expression of forgiveness can look different for everyone, but true forgiveness should offer mercy and compassion to those who hurt us. Jesus isn't asking us to do anything that He hasn't already done for us. And when we offer mercy to someone who has wounded us, we illustrate how God's forgiveness has impacted us. It's because God freely offers us mercy that He asks us to show mercy also. So is there anyone you can offer mercy and forgiveness to today? Spend some time with God, ask Him to search your heart, and give Him any hurt you've been carrying. God loves you. Have a blessed day.
