Battle prayer notes 12/14/22
Remarkably, God created us for good works, not because of good works.
In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matt. 5:16
Pride can keep us from doing good deeds. Selfishness keeps us away from people needs.
Also we can take to much pride in our works and we steal the glory that God deserves.
Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. Heb. 10:24
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Gal. 6:9
People take advantage of our good deeds and we get hurt. We do good and let God bring his blessing or curse. We return good for evil trusting in the goodness and justice of God.
Good deeds need to be based our faith. The world is different there virtue is the good deeds. Many times our values and morals don’t match up with our deeds.
A good deed is an action you take for the betterment of another person or society as a whole. However, good deeds need to be perceived as good even if the intent is positive. Otherwise, they may not be considered good deeds.
Jesus came to do good works!
It matters our morals and good deeds.
People who knew us in our lost past life are shocked by the good deeds and new person we are becoming in Christ!
We lack leadership of godly men in this world. We need to stand up and show what good deeds look like through our faith in Christ!
In James 1:27, the apostle James gives us insight into what pleases God: “Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.
Your Spiritual disciplines should lead you to the secret place. So that he can reward you with good works to do for his glory.
Deeds don’t have to be done in secret. They can be openly reward but giving God all the glory.
Evil man feds there ego.
Sometimes people need to see good deeds.
The seed of a single act of kindness can grow to a tree of life and blessing for you and for others.
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and the one who is wise saves lives.
If the righteous are rewarded here on earth, what will happen to wicked sinners?
LORD, make me a conduit of goodness.
On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’
But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’
What good is good deeds with out your righteousness. It’s a fart in Gods nose instead of the fragrance of Christ stirring in us.
What good deeds have died in our thoughts. Take that effort and apply.
In the flesh we are selfish. We need God to do good deeds.
Your desires in me LORD give me faith and good works.
Your good deeds is more than just money.
The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself.
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:4-7
Pro 11:30 The seeds of good deeds become a tree of life; and those who win souls are wise.
“Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless. Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”
James 1:26-27
Our motives to be checked our fruits and actions.
People do wicked deeds in the name of the LORD.
Without love our deeds mean nothing. Jesus was motivated by love to help others. He saw a need and carried it. Because Jesus loves us so much we can love others.
“If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.”
1 Corinthians 13:1
Thank you for another great day of battle prayer.
