Oh To Be Wise Meditations
You must not have any other god but me. Do not go after other gods to serve and worship them, or provoke me to anger with the work of your hands. Worship the Lord your God and serve only him. LORD, if there is anything in my life that I treat as more important than you please show me, I want to repent. You deserve my whole my whole heart and life. I need to love the LORD my God with all my heart, with all my soul, and with all my strength. That will keep me from having other Gods before me. But apart from Christ I can do nothing. As I pursue Jesus He gives me the power to keep God first in every aspect. Learning to respect and fear God is the beginning of knowledge. More than anything else, put God's work first and do what he wants. Then the other things will be mine as well. My name is the LORD! I won't let idols or humans share my glory and praise. See, the former things have taken place, and new things I declare; before they spring into being I announce them to you." Those who trust in idols, who say, ‘You are our gods,’ will be turned away in shame. Hear, you deaf; look, you blind, and see! You see and recognize what is right but refuse to act on it. You hear with your ears, but you don’t really listen. You must acknowledge no other god but Jesus, for there is no other savior.
