Oh To Be Wise Meditations

In pride the wicked pursue the needy; let them be caught in the schemes they devise. Declare them guilty, O God; let them fall by their own devices. Drive them out for their many transgressions, for they have rebelled against You. Blessed is the person who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers! I do not sit with deceitful men, nor keep company with hypocrites. I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked. Do not envy wicked men or desire their company, for their hearts plot violence, and their lips talk about making trouble. Woe to those who plan iniquity, to those who plot evil on their beds! At morning's light they carry it out because it is in their power to do it. They covet fields and seize them, and houses, and take them. They defraud people of their homes, they rob them of their inheritance. Therefore, the LORD says: "I am planning disaster against this people, from which you cannot save yourselves. You will no longer walk proudly, for it will be a time of calamity.
