Oh To Be Wise Meditations

Live safely. I saw a sign while I was driving that real stood out to me. It said drive safely. Now it didn't have a specific penalty or law. No speed limit or flashing light. Just the words drive safely. Hoping that people would drive in such a way that they would protect themselves and others on the road as well. This reminds me of Gods word as we see it play out through out our day. He calls us to live a holy life and stay away from sin and death. Part of being alive is to stay alive and thrive. God does not want us to live halfheartedly with no purpose or passion. In Christ we can live safely, knowing that the promises of God are a yes and amen. In this life we face many hardships and trials, but are we called to live safely and wisely. The naïve believes everything,

But the sensible man considers his steps. The wisdom of the sensible is to understand his way, But the foolishness of fools is deceit. As we go about our days we must strive to live in peace with God and fellow man as much as possible. To live safely and not test the LORD your God. To love your neighbor and care for their well being and safely. A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences. A wise man fears and turns from evil, but a fool is careless and reckless. The rewards of humility and the fear of the LORD are wealth and honor and life. If you keep being stubborn after many warnings, you will suddenly discover you have gone too far. A person who will not bend after many warnings will suddenly be broken beyond repair. Live safely to avoid repairs and troubles on the road of life.

Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people. Don’t lose sight of common sense and discernment. Hang on to them, for they will refresh your soul. They are like jewels on a necklace. They keep you safe on your way, and your feet will not stumble. You can go to bed without fear; you will lie down and sleep soundly. You can go to bed without fear; you will lie down and sleep soundly, Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, for the LORD is your security. He will keep your foot from being caught in a trap.
