Oh To Be Wise Meditations

Jesus believed there would be great joy at the right hand of the throne of God and that there would be great joy for having saved the whole creation. He was able by faith to see past the horror of the cross to the joy that was in store for Him. I pray we see past the cross we bear and know the joy that is set before us. Jesus said, whoever does not carry his cross and follow Me cannot be My disciple. It brings tears to my eyes seeing the cross so many people carry. Of course the heaviest of all was Christ's. But this why Jesus says blessed are those who believe and have not seen. There is such a personal closeness that God in Christ has with the redeemed sinner. A strength and purpose that only comes from a fellowship of suffering with Jesus. Then and only then, can the power of his resurrection truly make sense. In Jesus even the mundane can blissful. Even the wait or never coming to pass can be enjoyable. I can't explain it but its real as the skin on your bones. There is indescribable joy before the presence of the LORD. He prepares for us a table of peace and joy even in the presence of our enemies. Go now, even in your place of sorrow and regret. Joy can be found right in the morning, when Jesus makes all things new again. Look at your cross today and say, oh the joy set before me when I will truly see my Savior's face.
