Oh To Be Wise Meditations
Everyday you need God to do something impossible. And what is that? It's turning you a sinner into a saint. Its bringing wicked hearts to repentance. “You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.” Everything is possible for one who believes. Maybe that is the one flaw humanity in general has. We only believe in what we can see. We are blind to the reality of God and therefore never believe in something bigger than ourselves. Everything in this world is impossible and cannot be explained fully. Even the things we do now change with every coming generation. One thing that never changes is the word of God. Now when people take an oath, they call on someone greater than themselves to hold them to it. And without any question that oath is binding. God also bound himself with an oath, so that those who received the promise could be perfectly sure that he would never change his mind. So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. To believe in God is supernatural. To trust that the impossible will become possible. That God became man to make salvation possible for us. If that is true, what is impossible for humanity, nothing.
