Oh To Be Wise Meditations

Minimization is the reduction of something, especially something undesirable, to the smallest possible amount or degree. Think about that a moment before continuing. People will enjoy things that they use wisely. If we have too much of something, do we really know how to manage it? Are we really enjoying it fully or wasting so much of it? Definitively the things that are undesirable or hurting us we need to cut of our lives. Minimize the waste in your life and you will find how much peace you are missing out on. Even food or water or basic needs, if we fill up our lives with these things we will still not be satisfied. I am not saying we do not save what we have, but we need to learn to minimize and save. People who work hard sleep well, whether they eat little or much. But the rich seldom get a good night’s sleep. LORD, make me absolutely honest and don't let me be too poor or too rich. Give me just what I need. If I have too much to eat, I might forget about you; if I don't have enough, I might steal and disgrace your name. My flesh must decrease and your Spirit must increase in me so that I am learning to become fully submitted to your Will. I have not departed from your commands, but have treasured your words more than daily food. The Pharisees were rebuked by Jesus for only caring about the tiniest of things of the law and forget the biggest things like justice, mercy, and faith. I think they were on to something though. Because Jesus said these you ought to have done, without neglecting the others. We should strain our water and not worry so much about accidentally swallowing a gnat. We swallow camels without even batting an eye! LORD forgive us. Oh to be content with what the LORD and given, and make much him in my life! Teach me Holy Spirit to use what I already have and what you have given me. Let me make use of it wisely and bring you glory in the heartier things.
