Oh To Be Wise Meditations
Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Deep in my heart I say, "The LORD is all I need; I can depend on him!" The LORD is kind to everyone who trusts and obeys him. So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the LORD. Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for Him; do not fret when men prosper in their ways, when they carry out wicked schemes. It is best to learn this patience in our youth. Let them sit alone in silence beneath the LORD’s demands. Being rubbed in the dirt can teach us a lesson; we can also learn from insults and hard knocks. For no one is abandoned by the Lord forever. Though he brings grief, he also shows compassion because of the greatness of his unfailing love. For he does not enjoy hurting people or causing them sorrow. If people crush underfoot all the prisoners of the land, if they deprive others of their rights in defiance of the Most High, if they twist justice in the courts— doesn’t the Lord see all these things? So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ. But as for me, how good it is to be near God! I have made the Sovereign LORD my shelter, and I will tell everyone about the wonderful things He does.
