Oh To Be Wise Meditations
LORD, let me experience your faithful love in the morning, for I trust in You. Reveal to me the way I should go because I long for You. By day you direct your love and at night your song is with me, a prayer to the God of my life. I will bless the LORD who counsels me; even at night my conscience instructs me. Love the LORD, all you his saints! The LORD preserves the faithful but abundantly repays the one who acts in pride. People cry out when they are oppressed. They groan beneath the power of the mighty. Yet they don’t ask, ‘Where is God my Creator, the one who gives songs in the night? Where is the one who makes us smarter than the animals and wiser than the birds of the sky? There they cry out, but He does not answer, because of the pride of evil men. But it is wrong to say God doesn’t listen, to say the Almighty isn’t concerned. You say you can’t see him, but he will bring justice if you will only wait. You say he does not respond to sinners with anger and is not greatly concerned about wickedness. The LORD is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous. He fulfills the desires of those who fear Him; He hears their cry and saves them.
