Oh To Be Wise Meditations
The call to prayer. In every place of worship, I want men to pray with holy hands lifted up to God, free from anger and controversy. Day and night, night and day let incense arise! Yes, our prayers lit by the fire of Christ in us. Let us lift up all kinds of prayers to God! We can only pray effectively because Jesus is Interceding for us at all times. Our lips are the wick on which Holy Spirit burns. Burn in me LORD the desire to pray for others and to pray according to your will. Let me not pray amiss according to my own selfish desires. May my prayer be set before You like incense, my uplifted hands like the evening offering. Starting in Ex 30: 1 Make an altar of acacia wood for burning incense. It is to be square, a cubit long and a cubit wide, and two cubits high —its horns of one piece with it. Overlay the top and all the sides and the horns with pure gold, and make a gold molding around it. Make two gold rings for the altar below the molding—two on each of the opposite sides—to hold the poles used to carry it. Make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold. Put the altar in front of the curtain that shields the ark of the covenant law—before the atonement cover that is over the tablets of the covenant law—where I will meet with you. Jesus, I take up my wooden cross today and that with a faith as pure as gold which you have given me. I come boldly before your throne where the veil has been torn in two through the flesh of Christ. Day and night, night and day I can let prayers rise as incense before you. No prayer wasted, every offering of praise and thanksgiving and petition is worthy before the throne of God! The fire that kindles us is the fire of Holy Spirit. The blood of Christ is all we need to be right before God. May our lives be living sacrifices that burn daily the prayers of Gods will here on earth as it is in heaven.
