Oh To Be Wise Meditations
People want to be free but not abide by the laws. Many times defying the very laws that would protect them and going outside the hedges of a moral society. What does it mean to be free? Is it to live who ever we want and do whatever we want without moral restraint? The world we live in is testing those boundaries and as we stray far from the word of God. The waters of grace become murky and we don't realize to its too late that we are trampling the precious blood of Christ. The world claims ignorance and pride, but what is the excuse for those who know what is right and don't do it. They have abused the grace of God hoping that nothing bad happens. But sin has a way of promising freedom and leaving you in bondage to guilt and shame. True freedom is found in the moral laws and character of God. If we live in the light as He is in the light we will enjoy the freedom he brings. But if we stay in the darkness of sin and pride we will stumble and lose the freedom we so desperately desire. Live in freedom, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as servants of God. For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.
