Oh To Be Wise Meditations
The faith it takes to doubt. The problems we have without it. And the beauty of what we see. Heard a great teacher and pastor say this about the Gospel of Jesus. It takes so much to doubt the word of God. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from His workmanship, so that men are without excuse. Think about also the problems we have without the word of God. People began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles. Lastly, the beauty of the grace and love found in Jesus is so irresistible that people can't believe it to be true. See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is. To believe in God and the Gospel is sanity and peace for a chaotic world full of confusion. God is real. It doesn't a lot of faith to know him today. Just a little faith is required and the power of the Spirit of Christ will do the rest.
