Oh To Be Wise Meditations
God does not need our feelings to use us. He just needs our faith, our trust, our obedience. Nothing is impossible with God. Do we really believe this? If we do then we can't trust our feelings because our flesh has a strong hold on them. Our Spirit is willing when we hear the precious word of God. But our flesh becomes weak as we start to doubt, fear, and despair. Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” We must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. To see his glory is the greatest gift of all. His matchless love is so glorious and true. But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign LORD my refuge; I will tell of all his deeds. This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.” I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the Jew, then to the Greek. It has always been by faith. By faith, Abel, Enoch, Noah. By faith Abraham and Sarah. By faith Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph. By faith Moses and the faith of many. And by faith you and me. We have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
