Oh To Be Wise Meditations
Your love, LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies. Your mercy-seat love is limitless and unending. He will never reach his limit with us. I can't imagine a heart like this because of my sinful heart. But I want to love and show mercy like you Jesus. I realize now that love does not mean your a push over or a floor mat. But you love unconditional while speaking the truth of Gods word. I love how God spoke to Cain in love but still held him accountable for desires and actions. “Why are you so angry?” the LORD asked Cain. “Why do you look so dejected? You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master.” Amen. We know later that Cain killed his brother in jealousy and pride. God still showed Cain mercy in how he dealt with him. God mercy is just and fair. Even when the wicked need help his love is available to all who are repentant. A love we daily are being transformed by in the power of Holy Spirit. Jesus desires mercy and not sacrifice. Think about this: He became the sacrifice for our sins so that we may be a living sacrifice for him. There is no excuse for sin and condemnation. We all have been forgiven in Christ and are called to love mercy more than sacrifice. Real love bears all things, and honors truth more than just the sacrifice of lips.
