Oh To Be Wise Meditations
You, LORD, are our Father. We are nothing but clay, but you are the potter who molded us. Your hands shaped me and altogether formed me. Your hands have made me and fashioned me; give me understanding to learn your commandments. From your throne you observes all who live on the earth. You who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything we do. Jesus you guard the steps of your faithful ones, but the wicked perish in darkness; for by their own strength shall no man prevail. You are LORD and Creator, A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families, he leads out the prisoners with singing; but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land. No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength. A horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite all its great strength it cannot save. But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love, to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine. We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield. The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety.
