My City. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which God has placed you. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper. Make requests, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving in behalf of all people, for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. O LORD, save us, we pray. We beseech You, O LORD, cause us to prosper! Thank you for my city, my nation. Bring your city oh God down to us and abide with us. We had heard of the city’s glory, but now we have seen it ourselves, the city of the LORD of Heaven’s Armies. It is the city of our God; he will make it safe forever. Glorious things are ascribed to you, O city of God. There is a river whose streams delight the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. Fill our cities, my city with your rivers overflowing. Hear the LORD say: I am coming soon. Hold fast to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. All who are victorious will become pillars in the Temple of my God, and they will never have to leave it. And I will write on them the name of my God, and they will be citizens in the city of my God, the new Jerusalem that comes down from heaven from my God. And I will also write on them my new name. Yes, praise God, nations will see your righteousness, and all kings your glory. You will be called by a new name that the mouth of the LORD will bestow.
