Proverbs of 39 yr old man
The promise of prayer. The promise of prayer is Holy Spirit. If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” Prayer is a gift from God in itself because we are able to come before the Throne in the name of Jesus. But more than just being in the presence of God we get to ask and receive more of the Spirit of Christ daily. You can never have enough Holy Spirit, we are to live overflowing in power of Holy Spirit. But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things! That is the promise of prayer! Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. More than anything else we must continually have a passion for the filling and fruits of the Spirit. Like King David we plead, Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. Don't give God's Holy Spirit any reason to be upset or be grieved with you. He has put his seal on you for the day you will be set free from the world of sin. And do not quench that passion to pursue Christ daily and lose that fervor to know Him.
