Proverbs of a 36 yr old man

Pure obedience. Obedience at its purest form is this: Love means we do what God tells us. From the beginning he has told us to love him, and what he commands we must live by it. A burden of one's own choice is not felt, meaning something difficult seems easier when it is done voluntarily. Obedience that is not coerced or demanded but done with love and respect is an easier yoke. What the Law could not do, because human nature was weak, God did. He condemned sin in human nature by sending his own Son, who came with a nature like our sinful nature, to do away with sin. The yoke Jesus provides for us is easy and light. The burden he has placed upon us is continual fellowship and relationship with Him. Through this persistent obedience we will reap eternal blessings and peace. The systems of works laid on the backs of humanity throughout history makes obedience impossible not only to man but to God. You will never please people, only through pure love can hearts be satisfied. And that love has been poured out to us from the Cross. Christ's perfect obedience is imputed to us through faith, just as his righteousness was exchanged for our sin at the cross. The life lived by faith is a much lighter yoke and much easier burden to carry than the heavy burdensome yoke of self righteousness. You will be surprised how voluntarily submission to Christ, will make difficult obedience much easier. This is because your obedience is tied to your faith in Christ, which gives you the confidence of what we hope for, the conviction about things we do not see.
