Proverbs of a 37 yr old man
Watered down. Watered down Christianity is weakening the Spirit of Christ in our lives. Every time I take a sip of the Christian culture we are living in, it taste worse and worse. Even if we try to be progressive relating to the times, its like trying to add sweetener to make the taste more attractive. It may make it taste better but you dilute the purity of Gospel when you do that. We need clean living water daily that we can drink from to truly be refreshed and never thirst again. I think about the Pharisees who provided such a strong drink that it diluted the law of God to just rules and regulation you had to follow. We tend to as sinful people water down what was meant to stay at its original form. Either way for the good or the bad, the flesh likes things very strong or very diluted. It makes me think of the words that Jesus spoke to the woman on at the well. "But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.” Jesus, you have been good to me because I do right; you have rewarded me for being innocent by your standards. To the faithful you show yourself faithful; to those with integrity you show integrity. To the pure you show yourself pure, but to the crooked you show yourself shrewd. You rescue the humble, but you humiliate the proud. You light a lamp for me. The LORD, my God, lights up my darkness. May his light shine the cup of Christianity we are drinking and show us how to keep it Pure Gospel.
