Proverbs of a 37 yr old man
A fool can use a proverb about as well as crippled people can use their legs. They are not able to walk by faith, but are dragged along through life by their own feelings and selfish desires. The natural man does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God. For they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. These are the people who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit. The Wisdom of Christ is useless to them because they will eventually do things there own way. Let those who are wise understand these things. Let those with discernment listen carefully. The paths of the LORD are true and right, and righteous people live by walking in them. But in those paths sinners stumble and fall. If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you; if you are a mocker, you alone will suffer. This is what the LORD says: “Don’t let the wise boast in their wisdom, or the powerful boast in their power, or the rich boast in their riches. But those who wish to boast should boast in this alone: that they truly know me and understand that I am the LORD who demonstrates unfailing love and who brings justice and righteousness to the earth, and that I delight in these things. I, the LORD, have spoken!
