Fear is never productive, it just gets in the way of love’s transforming power. That is the scandal of Christ’s saving grace. That Jesus can take a imperfect sinner and love Him into the Kingdom. Do you believe this? That through relationship with Christ you are being saved and are saved! That is something that the world and evil itself cannot understand. A Holy Law demands justice. And if broken all their is left is a fearful expectation of judgment. But praise God, Jesus removes the fear of sin and death and gives us the gift of spirit and life. Those who are stuck in there sins with heavy guilt and shame, can be set free from fear and hopelessness. Jesus has made a way, a new living way. Yes, my friends the blood of Jesus gives us courage to enter the most holy place by a new way that leads to life! And this way takes us through the curtain that is Christ himself. All who declare that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God. And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world. Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. No fear exists where his love is. Rather, perfect love gets rid of fear, because fear involves punishment. The person who lives in fear doesn't have perfect love. The thought of being punished is what makes us afraid. It shows we have not really learned to love. God's Spirit doesn't make us slaves who are afraid of him. No, instead, we become his children and call him our Father. Yes, his love will transform you from a slave to this world to a child of the living God! Think about that as fear has to leave and real love begins!
