Proverbs of a 38 yr old man
Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. Sounds like a cliche, but how many people actually practice this teaching of Christ. Think about it. So many people treat people however way they want and expect to be treated rightly in return. If you are mean to someone they are probably going to be mean back to you. If you are not patient with someone they will not be patient with you. If you do not honor and respect your neighbor they will not respect you. So many people treat others so harshly and expect 100 fold back in return. No, it doesn’t work that way. God will not be mocked. If you are mean spirited, disrespectful, and heartless towards someone you are fostering hatred in your life. You are sowing discord while you think its honorable pride. Do unto others works the best when we do unto others what we would like done and not expecting nothing in return. Even with your enemies this principle can bring peace and life. Thank God that he did not treat us harshly giving us what we deserved. Jesus did unto others what we could never do for each other. And in the Spirit of Christ we can allow this holy principle to govern our lives. Jesus treated us how he would like to be treated. Now let us follow his example and treat people the way Jesus treated people. Which was in humility and unfailing love. You ought to love your neighbor as thyself. Ask your self this question? Am I treating someone less than what I deserve?
