Proverbs of a 38 yr old man
Patience, I need more of you. I wish I could purchase you and buy you in bulk. I seem to always run out of you when I need you the most. I know that you are better than pride, if I am quickly provoked in my spirit anger settles into the lap of my heart. Yes, it is the good hearted people who hear God's word, cling to it, and patiently produce a huge harvest. My heart must go through tribulation, that is the only way patience is gained and transformed into an eternal weight of glory. Patient endurance is what I need now, so that I will continue to do God’s will. Then I will receive all that he has promised, the one who perseveres to the end will be saved. Be patient, then, my friends, until the Lord comes. See how patient farmers are as they wait for their land to produce precious crops. They wait patiently for the autumn and spring rains. Be glad, people of Zion, rejoice in the LORD your God, for he has given you the autumn rains because he is faithful. He sends you abundant showers, both autumn and spring rains, as before. The threshing floors will be filled with grain; the vats will overflow with new wine and oil. Oh patience reap the peaceable fruit of righteousness in me! If we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently then. Amen.
