Proverbs of a 38 yr old man

Preach Righteousness. Be righteous in your own generation. Many will follow their own depraved conduct and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. For God did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others. If this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment. How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? So preach righteousness, and may the eyes of the LORD find favor in you. For a flood of fire is coming to the judge the earth. Yes, you should look forward to the day when God judges everyone, and you should try to make it come soon. On that day the heavens will be destroyed by fire, and everything else will melt in the heat. But first you must realize that in the last days some people won't think about anything except their own selfish desires. They will make fun of you and say, "Didn't your Lord promise to come back? Yet the first leaders have already died, and the world hasn't changed a bit." They will say this because they want to forget that long ago the heavens and the earth were made at God's command. The earth came out of water and was made from water. Later it was destroyed by the waters of a mighty flood. But God has commanded the present heavens and earth to remain until the day of judgment. Then they will be set on fire, and ungodly people will be destroyed. The Lord isn't slow about keeping his promises, as some people think he is. In fact, God is patient, because he wants everyone to turn from sin and no one to be lost. This is why you preach righteousness. It has not rained fiery judgment since the days of Sodom and Gomorrah on the earth. Hear the words of Jesus in Matt. 11:23-24: And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? You will be brought down to Hades. For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. I tell you, even Sodom will be better off on judgment day than you. I can picture Noah pleading with people to trust in the “longsuffering” LORD, and to believe His warnings, and to enter the only provision in the entire world for survival, the Ark. We have a provision in our day to be spared from the flood of fiery judgment to come, an infinitely greater Ark, the Ark of Jesus Himself. He is door to the Ark, if anyone enters by Him, they will be saved.
