Proverbs of a 39 yr old man
Skin became as smooth as a child's. Imagine how Naaman the leper felt after years of sickness and decay. He went down and dipped himself in the Jordan seven times, as the man of God had told him, and his flesh was restored and became clean like that of a young boy. He said, "Now I know that there is no God in all the world except in Israel. God wants to heal your heart today and give you that testimony in the same way. Wanting to remove all the decay that sin has done to your heart making it stony and giving you a new heart of flesh. A heart that is smooth to the touch of Holy Spirit, restored to a childlike faith that is no longer hardened by life and its harshness. You once lived your life with a heart of stone dead in sin. But in Christ you have been given a new heart cleansed in the rivers of his living water! He told you by faith to go be baptized by water of repentance and by fire of Holy Spirit. And so you went to the river that makes the city of God glad. Allowing Christ to wash all of you with his blood. Not just wash your feet, but wash your hands and head as well. Praise God, you came out of deep living waters with a heart healed and with a flesh as smooth as a baby’s skin! But baptism is more than just washing your body. It means turning to God with a clear conscience, because Jesus Christ was raised from death. So let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. How much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself unblemished to God, purify our consciences from works of death, so that we may serve the living God!
