Proverbs of a 39 yr old man
What once was ripe in your life because of sin has become rotten. The branches of your heart the LORD tends and cares for. He carefully prunes what we have allowed to grow pride and sin in. Even though you may see one fresh fruit still God sees the branch is rotten and withering. Whack! No LORD, why? I hear him say:
I cut off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit I prune so that it will be even more fruitful. This may be a season where God cuts away to bring more fruit. At least there is hope for a tree: If it is cut down, it will sprout again, and its new shoots will not fail. The LORD never fails! He will bear fruit where he has pruned! Look at the heart and life that the LORD Jesus does not prune: The vineyard has its hedges torn down and destroyed. The walls are broken down with wild animals trampling it. It is a wasteland where the vines are not pruned and the ground is not cultivated, a place overgrown with briers and thorns. Even the clouds do not drop rain on it. Oh Jesus, thank you for pruning and purifying us by the message of the Gospel. If I draw close to you and you draw close to me. Yes, if I remain in you and you remain me. I will bear much fruit for you Kingdom, and you will give me the gift of abundant life.
