Proverbs of a 39 yr old man

Love discipline. It doesn't matter how good you are in anything, or if you have natural ability. If you do not have love for discipline you have nothing. All you have is passion and drive but with no internal motor. Yes, with all that talent and big talk you give up at the slightest of difficulties and temptations. Enduring is a virtue that we must persevere in. Honed in the presence of Christ the Holy Spirit bears the fruit of endurance in us. The more endurance we have, the longer we will last, the farther we will go in this race called life. Like the Apostle Paul we want to endure and truly say I have finished the race. Before we came to know Jesus we gave into every kind of sin and disobedience. Following every sinful passion down its regrettable path. But through holy relationship and discipline in Christ we begin to suffer for righteousness sake. Suffering leads to endurance. And if we are going to grow as Christ-followers, it all starts with a willingness to obey God, even if that obedience brings hardship and trouble. Yes, you are nothing without discipline in your life. Discipline is doing what you hate do but doing it like you love it. To learn, you must love discipline; it is stupid to hate correction. Jesus says: Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent. So build endurance, be courageous, keep growing, do not take shortcuts, stay on task, bounce back, trust God. Love discipline.
