Proverbs of a 39 yr old man
In the spring, at the time when kings go off to war. King David stayed behind in Jerusalem. Where are you suppose to be right now? And what are suppose to be doing? You should be alert and ready for spiritual battle at all times. You are to be doing what is right before the LORD eyes. Don't stay back in laziness and lust. Listen to what Uriah said to King David, “The ark and Israel and Judah are dwelling in tents, and my lord Joab and the servants of my lord are encamped in the open fields. Shall I then go to my house to eat and drink, and to lie with my wife? As you live, and as your soul lives, I will not do this thing.” Amen. Hear me out: Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are. In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation. To Him be dominion power, authority, sovereignty forever and ever.
