Proverbs of a 39 yr old man

Live free in the wilderness. Patience and trust has gotten you past the Red Sea. Now you must follow the path of Righteousness through the wilderness of this life. We are not living this life aimlessly and idle, we have a destination in mind and that is the city of God, the New Jerusalem. To get there we must seek the Kingdom of God and everything else we need will be added to us. You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it. It is a straight path we must take as we follow the footsteps left behind by Christ example. I don’t want you to forget, dear brothers and sisters, about our ancestors in the wilderness long ago. All of them were guided by a cloud that moved ahead of them, and all of them walked through the sea on dry ground. In the cloud and in the sea, all of them were baptized as followers of Moses. All of them ate the same spiritual food, and all of them drank the same spiritual water. For they drank from the spiritual rock that traveled with them, and that rock was Christ. Yet God was not pleased with most of them, and their bodies were scattered in the wilderness. These things happened as a warning to us, so that we would not crave evil things as they did, or worship idols as some of them did. As the Scriptures say, “The people celebrated with feasting and drinking, and they indulged in pagan revelry.” And we must not engage in sexual immorality as some of them did, causing 23,000 of them to die in one day. Nor should we put Christ to the test, as some of them did and then died from snakebites. And don’t grumble as some of them did, and then were destroyed by the angel of death. These things happened to them as examples for us. They were written down to warn us who live at the end of the age. If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall. Such a large crowd of witnesses is all around us! So we must get rid of everything that slows us down, especially the sin that just won't let go. And we must be determined to run the race that is ahead of us. Jesus has set us free from sin and death so we can walk in the path of righteousness and not stray to the left or to the right. And when we want to go back and retreat we hear the LORD's voice behind us saying, forward this is the way we should go. The waters of doubt are behind us, and we have burned the ships of compromise. So then, we must walk by faith daily trusting in the straight path of Christ laid before us. Soon all the promises of God will be fulfilled before our eyes and we will see Jesus as he truly is in the Kingdom of Heaven. So let the redeemed of the LORD tell their story, those he redeemed from the hand of the foe, those he gathered from the lands, from east and west, from north and south. Some wandered in desert wastelands, finding no way to a city where they could settle. They were hungry and thirsty, and their lives ebbed away. Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He led them by a straight way to a city where they could settle. Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things. On this earth we don't have a city that lasts forever, but we are waiting for such a city. The redeemed of the LORD past and present place their hope in a better life after the resurrection. They were and are too good for this world, wandering over deserts and mountains, hiding in caves and holes in the ground. All the ancestors of our faith earned a good reputation because of their faith, yet none of them received all that God had promised. For God had something better in mind for us all, He planned that only together with us would they be made perfect. A redeemed people from every time, place, and generation that have been brought through the wilderness of this life and into the City of God.
