Temptation comes to wear you down. To make you weak until you cannot resist sins desire anymore. It is like a very dangerous deep well.. If you fall in, then you cannot easily climb out. Perhaps nobody will hear your cries. Perhaps nobody can rescue you. Perhaps you will die. Evil deeds are dangerous. If evil things tempt you, these things are dangerous. These things can cause many troubles. Perhaps sex tempts you. Or perhaps money tempts you. Or, other things might tempt you. Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away. Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. He will outsmart us and if we are not familiar with his evil schemes. The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure. Keep word to victory over sin and temptation is endure. As we become stronger in relationship with Christ the Holy Spirit gives us the strength to overcome our flesh and its desires. The Law of Moses cannot do this, because our selfish desires make the Law weak. But God set you free when he sent his own Son to be like us sinners and to be a sacrifice for our sin. God used Christ's body to condemn sin. He did this, so that we would do what the Law commands by obeying the Spirit instead of our own desires. The law of spirit and life is moving within us and makes Gods word fruitful in our lives. Oh what a blessing to the mind and body when righteousness reigns even in these mortal bodies!
