Proverbs of a 40 yr old man

Change in seasons series. Winter is here. God’s voice is glorious in the thunder. We can’t even imagine the greatness of his power. He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth,’ and to the rain shower, ‘Be a mighty downpour.’ So that everyone he has made may know his work, he stops all people from their labor. The wild animals take cover and stay inside their dens. The stormy wind comes from its chamber, and the driving winds bring the cold. God’s breath sends the ice, freezing wide expanses of water. He loads the clouds with moisture, and they flash with his lightning. The clouds churn about at his direction. They do whatever he commands throughout the earth. He makes these things happen either to punish people or to show his unfailing love. Amen. In the winter season everything seems dead. Buried are your hopes and dreams praying for a miracle. For those who have hunkered down for this cold season, they live off every word of God stored in their heart. The LORD sends his command to the earth; his word runs swiftly. He spreads the snow like wool and scatters the frost like ashes. He hurls the hail like stones. Who can stand against his freezing cold? Then, at his command, it all melts. He sends his winds, and the ice thaws. Think about this. In the winter season when everything feels cold and frozen in your life, know this: The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry. It is the same with the word of God. He sends it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all He wants it to, and it will prosper everywhere He sends it. The snow will melt away and water the seeds of faith you have been holding on to in during this cold season. Hold on to the promises of God in this season, only He knows how to make all things work together for our good, even in such cold conditions. Look, the snow is melting and watering you. The season is changing as green pastures begin to grow from your faith in Christ within. Spring is coming and is near. Beloved! See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone.
