Your food will taste better, and you will get better service if you have good manners towards your servers and cooks. People should eat and drink and enjoy the fruits of their labor, for these are gifts from God. The LORD waters the mountains from his upper chambers; the land is satisfied by the fruit of his work. He makes grass grow for the cattle, and plants for people to cultivate, bringing forth food from the earth: wine that gladdens human hearts, oil to make their faces shine, and bread that sustains their hearts. Amen. Food is meant to be enjoyed and to be shared with others. There are those who provide a service to us to give us food and drink. Let us honor them by showing them godly example and respect for their work. There in the midst of a place of good food and service your witness of Christ love can shine like a light. He calls out, “Is anyone thirsty? Come and drink— even if you have no money! Come, take your choice of wine or milk— it’s all free! Why spend your money on food that does not give you strength? Why pay for food that does you no good? Listen to me, and you will eat what is good. You will enjoy the finest food. God has food for people that taste so much better than physical food. But amazing how food and fellowship go together. Some of the best conversations about Jesus are done with in food and good service.
