Proverbs of a 40 yr. old man
It is better to enjoy what we have. Then we do not always want something more. We must always continue to work in order to stay alive. And we always think that we need more things. Instead, people should enjoy the things that they have. God gives some people wealth, possessions and honor, so that they lack nothing their hearts desire, but God does not grant them the ability to enjoy them, and strangers enjoy them instead. This is meaningless, a grievous evil. Many have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do, living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry. These desires have wasted away the good things we've had leaving shame and destruction behind. Only a life filled in the Spirit can we truly enjoy everything God has given us. The Spirit of Christ will show us how even the littlest of things are a blessing and provision. By the power of your hand, O LORD, destroy those who look to this world for their reward. But satisfy the hunger of your treasured ones. May their children have plenty, leaving an inheritance for their descendants. Teach me Jesus, how to get along and live humbly in difficult times, and also know how to enjoy abundance and live in prosperity. In any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of facing life, whether well-fed or going hungry, whether having an abundance or being in need. I enjoy fellowship with you Jesus, and want nothing more.
