Proverbs of a 40 yr old man
It is finished is where your power for newness of life comes from. On the Cross Jesus declared it is finished. Your works, your doctrine, and your religion can do nothing to save you from the destruction of sin and death working in you. For it is by grace God’s, His remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ that you have been saved, actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life through faith. And this salvation is not of yourselves not through your own effort, but it is the undeserved, gracious gift of God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. Jesus personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds we are healed. Amen. We don't live this life for ourselves anymore, if we do our flesh will destroy us. We are to live from the Spirit of Christ of faith. The same Spirit that rose Jesus from the dead is the same Spirit that lives in us. Yes, this life we live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and died for me. He does His Perfect Work in me and as trust and have faith in the power of the Cross. Jesus is the Living Word and He is putting His Law of love in our hearts transforming our hearts and lives. We now live and move and have our being in the Holy Spirit and count the flesh dead which profits us nothing. It is finished! Are you finished with sin? Put away the old nature and live in the Light and Glorious power of our Risen LORD Jesus.
