Proverbs of a 40 yr old man

Our ability to be faithful in ministry and survive incredibly difficult times is due to God’s grace. God’s grace is sufficient. When we are weak, God’s strength is even more evident. Paul could rejoice and boast in God because Paul knew the power that God exerted in Paul’s life through God’s grace. Paul could then boast in God’s strength, recognizing that, even when we are weak, God is strong. He provides the strength for us to withstand whatever challenges are before us. When things are going well or when things are going badly, our contentment doesn’t come from circumstances—contentment comes from recognizing that we can do whatever God intends for us to do through Christ who strengthens us. God is so gracious to provide strength when it is needed so that we can find our identity, our confidence, and our contentment in Him. This is what God meant when He said that His grace is sufficient—He is all we need. We must learn to rely on Holy Spirit and not our flesh. We must not trust in human wisdom but on God's power. Praise God, we have a grace that is greater than all our sin! Marvelous grace of our loving Lord, Grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt!

Yonder on Calvary's mount out-poured– There where the blood of the Lamb was spilt. Grace, grace, God's grace,Grace that will pardon and cleanse within; Grace, grace, God's grace,Grace that is greater than all our sin! Sin and despair, like the sea-waves cold, Threaten the soul with infinite loss;Grace that is greater– yes, grace untold–Points to the Refuge, the mighty Cross. Marvelous, infinite, matchless grace,Freely bestowed on all who believe! All who are longing to see His face, Will you this moment His grace receive?
