Proverbs of a 40 yr old man
Mocker, Scoffer is the name of the proud and arrogant man, of him who acts with excessive pride. The LORD has no use for conceited people, but shows favor to those who are humble. The LORD sneers at those who sneer at him, but he is kind to everyone who is lowly and needy. It is better to be lowly in spirit among the humble than to divide the spoil with the proud. Fools make fun of guilt, but the godly acknowledge it and seek reconciliation. Though the LORD is on high, He attends to the lowly; but the proud He knows from afar. The humble will be filled with fresh joy from the LORD. The poor will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel. The scoffer will be gone, the arrogant will disappear, and those who plot evil will be killed. Those who convict the innocent by their false testimony will disappear. A similar fate awaits those who use trickery to pervert justice and who tell lies to destroy the innocent. To fear the LORD is to hate evil; I hate arrogant pride, evil conduct, and perverse speech. Oh LORD Jesus look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; tread down the wicked in their place. Hate evil, O you who love the LORD! He preserves the souls of His saints; He delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
