Proverbs of a 40 yr old man
Every day is a Sabbath for Christians. Every day is the day the Lord has made. Every day is a day to find rest in Christ. Jesus said, All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take the yoke I give you. Put it on your shoulders and learn from me. I am gentle and humble, and you will find rest. This yoke is easy to bear, and this burden is light. Yes, cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken. Casting the whole of your care, all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully. Praise God! Jesus is LORD of the Sabbath. For the Sabbath was made to meet the needs of people, and not people to meet the requirements of the Sabbath. So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. God has promised us a Sabbath when we will rest, even though it has not yet come. But we know it is ready because of the place in the Scriptures where it mentions the seventh day: “On the seventh day God rested from all his work.” Just as God rested from His works of Creation on the Seventh Day so Christ rests from His works on the Cross. It is finished, it is fulfilled, and it is accomplished. He is Risen, Highly Exalted and Reigning, but seated and resting next to the Father. Oh LORD, My eyes fail with longing, watching for the fulfillment of Your salvation, And for the fulfillment of Your righteous word. Your rest is there for people to enter, but those who first heard this good news failed to enter because they disobeyed God. So God set another time for entering his rest, and that time is today. God announced this through David much later in the words already quoted: “Today when you hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts.” Find your true rest in Jesus. Daily enter into His presence with praise and adoration! For if our hope in Christ is only for this life, we are more to be pitied than anyone in the world. But in fact, Christ has been raised from the dead. He is the first of a great harvest of all who have died. We can find rest for our weary souls today and live in the light of eternity that shines in our hearts. As surely as my new heavens and earth will remain, so will you always be my people, with a name that will never disappear,” says the LORD. From one New Moon to another and from one Sabbath to another, all mankind will come and bow down before me,” says the LORD. Amen. Our rest in Christ will continue from one Sabbath to another. It will never end the peace and the blessing and the rest that we have been given through the power of the Gospel. Jesus said, "I am the one who raises the dead to life! Everyone who has faith in me will live, even if they die. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this? Amen. Find this amazing rest that leads to Eternal Life Himself today.
