Proverbs of a 40 yr old man

His goodness and glory attracts people. Jesus is a holy and wonderful person. Goodness and virtue flow from His Presence and into our hearts and minds. Everything that Jesus does is perfect. He never does anything that is wrong. Jesus has shown us what God requires. When we trust Jesus, we start to know him in a personal way. Jesus is generous. He gives us everything that we need. We receive his power. He makes us able to obey all his commands. We can live a holy life. We can please God. God’s great power through the work of the Holy Spirit lives in the Christian. When Christians know Jesus personally, they receive his nature and character. Their old nature goes. They are like new people. Paul said, Now it is not I who live. But Christ who lives in me. We do not become God, but God lives in us by Holy Spirit. We also know that Jesus will return. When that happens, we shall be like him. Having already the character and spirit of Christ. We will receive new bodies like his heavenly body at his second coming. So Christians must aim to become more like Jesus everyday. Hear are some ways we can do this: Having unconditional love. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. A Prayerful Life. Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed. Walking in Forgiveness. Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” Having Humility. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. Learn the Word of God. Jesus studied The Word of God. When they did not find him, they went back to Jerusalem to look for him. After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. Have Compassion. But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Seek First the Kingdom of God. Jesus devoted His life to the work of the ministry, to do His Father’s will which was to bring the kingdom of God to this earth. Learn self-control. He was led like a sheep to the slaughter, and as a lamb before its shearer is silent, so he did not open his mouth. Even in the most difficult moment of His life, Jesus exercised self-control. With just one word all His suffering could’ve ended, but He had self-control and stayed focused on doing the job that He came here to do. Live in authority. Jesus knew who He was and the authority he had. He rebuked demons, He spoke and calmed the storms, He ordered sickness and diseases to leave. He exercised His authority as Son of God. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is in you. You are a child of God, just like Jesus and you have authority too. Be Obedient. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Jesus was obedient and surrendered Himself to the will of the Father. Obedience can be hard, it can be scary, it requires lots of faith. But obedience is greatly rewarded. Remember, God doesn’t want your sacrifice, He wants your obedience. Obedience brings blessing.
