Proverbs of a 40 yr old man
My eye is the lamp that provides light for my body. My eye is healthy, so my whole body is filled with light.
So look in my eyes, tell me a tale. Do you see the road, the map to my soul? My life in Christ is like a lamp placed on a stand where it gives light to everyone near me and around me. Through suffering, our bodies continue to share in the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be seen in our bodies. Throughout our lives we are always in danger of death for Jesus' sake, in order that his life may be seen in this mortal body of ours. Physical death is actively at work in us, but spiritual life is actively at work in you. In Jesus was life and the power to bestow life, and the life was the Light of men. Amazing how having faith in God is compared to our physical eyesight. For we now walk by faith and not by sight. We have a light burning on the inside that will never burn out. Our God is a consuming fire of life and love and holiness. The Spirit of Christ is the light in our eyes and He shines through us a single light that reflects the image and character of our LORD Jesus Christ. The eyes of your hearts have been enlightened so that we may know what is the hope to which he has called us to. And what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints! Look in my eyes, tell me a tale. Do you see the road, the map to my soul? Jesus said, I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life. Amen. I am called to see by faith what I cannot see with the natural eye. A faith with confidence in what we hope for and an assurance about what we do not see. The promises of God are by faith, only He knows the beginning and the end. But I am called to shine a light so bright from deep within my soul and out into this world as a light reflecting off Jesus. Haughty eyes and a proud heart, the lamp of the wicked, are sin. See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness. If you are filled with light, with no dark corners, then your whole life will be radiant, as though a floodlight were filling you with light. Surely the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear Him, on those whose hope is in His loving devotion that he may deliver their soul from death and keep them alive in famine. I pray His Eye, His Light is burning in you and through you always, giving you a pure single light. So that your eye is healthy and your whole body is filled with the Light.
