Show no mercy. Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment. As it is written, “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.” What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all! For God said to Moses, “I will show mercy to anyone I choose, and I will show compassion to anyone I choose.” So it is God who decides to show mercy. We can neither choose it nor work for it. For the Scriptures say that God told Pharaoh, “I have appointed you for the very purpose of displaying my power in you and to spread my fame throughout the earth.” So you see, God chooses to show mercy to some, and he chooses to harden the hearts of others so they refuse to listen. Someone may ask, "How can God blame us, if he makes us behave in the way he wants us to?" But, my friend, I ask, "Who do you think you are to question God? Does the clay have the right to ask the potter why he shaped it the way he did? Doesn't a potter have the right to make a fancy bowl and a plain bowl out of the same lump of clay?" In the same way, even though God has the right to show his anger and his power, he is very patient with those on whom his anger falls, who are destined for destruction. He does this to make the riches of his glory shine even brighter on those to whom he shows mercy, who were prepared in advance for glory. Amen. Some of you accuse others of doing wrong. But there is no excuse for what you do. When you judge others, you condemn yourselves, because you are guilty of doing the very same things. We know that God is right to judge everyone who behaves in this way. Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin? I say this with trembling lips, if you show no mercy you will be shown no mercy as well in the hands of living God. Its better to love mercy than live to live in unforgiveness. When the blood of Jesus is trampled their is no other remedy for sin. Just eerie sense of judgment that coming your way. Mercy comes looking for justice when it cannot be found. Even in judgment there will mercy. Think about this: God show no mercy in the blasphemy of Holy Spirit. Calling evil good and good evil. Practicing evil and hate with no remorse or shame. Jesus comes again on a White Horse with vengeance, with no mercy and few words. Just a sword that comes from his mouth. Yes, coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. Study Matt. 5:7
