Proverbs of a 40 yr old man
Resale value. Take care of things properly and do the required maintenance needed to keep moth and rust from destroying. The LORD does not want us to waste anything. As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. Amen. Think about this: One who is slack in his work is brother to one who destroys. Yes, A man who helps not himself by his labour is brother of him that ruins himself. There are things in our lives that have and had great value but because of poor dilgence its worth is fading and soon to be nothing. We need to be sure that we know the condition of our flocks, giving careful attention to our herds; for riches do not endure forever, and a crown is not secure for all generations. So, lets take care of the things God has already given us so that He can reuse it for His Glory. Let us not sqaunder the blessings of the LORD but preserve the things He has provided. Realize that you are a steward. You are called to be a faithful money manager and to not spend all your money on the cares and pleasures of this world. In the parable of the prodigal son, the younger son got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living. After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in that whole country, and he began to be in need. Amen. Famine comes and disaster strikes suddenly. Sadly I see so many things that we have allowed moth and rust to destroy that could have been reused and repurpose. Lets ask the LORD Jesus what are things we can start now to keep in good shape and honor him in provision for others. Remember its the slacker that craves yet has nothing because he ate it all and still wants more. But the soul of the diligent is fully satisfied because He lives in the abundance of provision already given. And never wasted what God so richly provided in the past and still is sustaining in the future.
