Vision is actually spiritual understanding. It is the work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer to give him understanding of the Word of God. 1 Samuel 3:1 says the boy Samuel ministered before the LORD under Eli. In those days the word of the LORD was rare; there were not many visions. Amen. God has to raise up a Samuel to meet the need for that time and generation. Pray that The LORD would raise up sons and daughters in this generation. Sons and daughters that will prophesy, young men that will see visions, and old men that will dream dreams. Oh, do it again LORD Jesus, may your Word not be rare but abundant in these days of trouble. Like Moses said to Joshua, Are you jealous for my sake? I wish that all the LORD’s people were prophets and that the LORD would put his Spirit upon them all!” Oh, Holy Spirit come among your people like a mighty rushing wind and fill the atmosphere! Transform us into a different person! Yes, make us more like you Jesus in everything we say and do. We need spiritual discernment desperately, an understanding of the Word of God so we can live it out properly. For it is the words of the godly that encourage many, but fools are destroyed by their lack of common sense. Without God there is no common sense.
