Proverbs of a 41 yr. old man

Sin darkens your intellect. There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end, it leads to death. The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to counsel. There are people who think they are pure when they are as filthy as they can be. Amen. Going against Gods word and His ways is setting yourself up for failure. People ruin their lives by their own foolishness and then are angry at the LORD. To live in righteousness is to seek pure wisdom and light. We need Jesus to renew our thinking so that we can be prudent and not live in constant sin and destruction. The Holy Spirit has been poured out for us to learn and practice righteousness. It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. Therefore, as the Scriptures say, “If you want to boast, boast only about the LORD.” Amen. We need to live each day studying Scripture to practice righteousness to keep us from folly and sin. Those who lead blameless lives and do what is right, speaking the truth from sincere hearts. Those who refuse to gossip or harm their neighbors or speak evil of their friends. Those who despise flagrant sinners, and honor the faithful followers of the LORD, and keep their promises even when it hurts. Those who lend money without charging interest, and who cannot be bribed to lie about the innocent. Such people will stand firm forever. Those who live in sin lose the ability to know their left from there right. What is good and what is evil. Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! Those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. Here is wisdom to enlighten your intellect today: Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.
