Proverbs of a 41 yr old man
During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission. (Hebrews 5:7) Amen. The life of Jesus on earth was an example for us to follow. The writer of Hebrews made mention of Psalm 22, which describes a sinless character crying out to God to be rescued (Psalm 22:24; Hebrews 2:12). Jesus suffering on the cross brought literal fulfillment to the words of that Psalm. Some believe that the writer of Hebrews may also be referring to Jesus' prayers in the garden of Gethsemane prior to His arrest (Matthew 26:39; Luke 22:42). Jesus' death on the cross was the sacrifice offered, once and for all, for human sin (Hebrews 9:26). Of course, Jesus was killed by those who arrested Him. The "rescue" He obtained was not from death, but out of death. The resurrection of Jesus was the ultimate sign of His acceptance and approval by God. So then, the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment. Jesus has called us to live for Him the way he died for us. To die to this world and live a life submitted daily to Him. During the days of our lives here on earth, we are to offer up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save us from sin and death, and we will be heard because of our reverent submission. But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the spirit of the Lord" (2 Corinthians 3:18). God does not require us to submit because He is a tyrant, but because He is a loving Father and He knows what is best for us. The blessings and peace that we gain from humbly surrendering and submitting ourselves to Him daily are a gift of grace that nothing in this world can compare to. The relationship The Father and The Son had on earth is what we are called to have as well with our Heavenly Father. Jesus said, I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me. Amen. Scripture says, Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father."
