Proverbs of a 41 yr old man

Holding on to time

Holding on to time but it keeps slipping away through my hands. I try to cup it and catch it as much as possible. But it's like a powerful waterfall and its too much to take in. Even when I have truly enjoyed time and space I grow fonder for more of it even knowing things are temporal here on earth. My tears mix with this waterfall of time. Forcing me to move forward as I grasp for meaning and purpose of all things happening to me and around me. The older I get the more I lose the passion to hold on to the water of time. It flows by me and through me and many times I am indifferent. The sense of time is very real to me as I see it slip away. God has put eternity in our hearts, I long to live forever. He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. Amen. Still I must hold onto Him who gives time. Letting him make the most of my time. Looking carefully how I walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Amen. Time goes and empties no matter what we do to try to grasp it. So I must make peace in my heart knowing that I will not accomplish all my dreams and passions. As I seek Gods Kingdom He will add to me all his plans and desires for my life. Better than what I could ever think or imagine. As we learn to number our days we start to see the brevity of life. Instead of grasping to hold the waterfall of time desperately, I will open my mouth and taste and see that the LORD is good and has been good! He will give me a heart of wisdom as I thirst and hunger for the Living God. Jesus you are the author of time and you hold all things together for its appointed time. Since before the beginning of time you had a plan of salvation for me. Help me to stay in your appointed time and not use my time for the constant flesh and the things of this world. The LORD has made everything for his own purposes, even the wicked for a day of disaster. We are Christs own purpose for the appointed time. Hear our LORD Jesus say: I declare the end from the beginning, and from ancient times what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and all My good pleasure I will accomplish.’
