Learning to love is the hardest virtue for God to grow in us. Faith is difficult and facing your fears. Hope is difficult and longing for relief and answers. Love is difficult and finding God's purpose in the midst of suffering. The lie is life is good when there is no suffering. Blessings and wealth is not proof you will not suffer. It is through the virtue of love, the fabric of Gods character where we become more like Him and know Him. If you could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, you would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If you had the gift of prophecy, and if you understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if you had such faith that you could move mountains, but didn’t love others, you would be nothing. If you gave everything you had to the poor and even sacrificed your body, you could boast about it; but if you didn’t love others, you would have gained nothing. Amen. Love and suffering are connected in so many ways. Not only that, but we called by Scripture to rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. Love never fails. Let it produce the peaceable fruit of righteousness you so desperately need. God is love, Christ suffered and died to show it.
