The Name of the Lord
Good morning Brothers, Happy Sabbath! Praise God for waking you up this morning. God loves you. I love you. Take a moment to call a friend or loved one today, tomorrow is not promised. Let’s sing, All my hope on God is founded; He doth still my trust renew, Me through change and chance He guideth, Only good and only true. God unknown, He alone calls my heart to be His own. Pride of man and earthly glory, Sword and crown betray his trust; What with care and toil he buildeth, Tower and temple fall to dust. But God’s power, hour by hour, Is my temple and my tower! Today’s verse is from Proverbs 18:10. The name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe. Have you ever thought about the meaning of your name? The meaning of a name is more important in some cultures than others. Similarly, the name of the Lord is not just a common name. God's name tells us who He is, tells us about His character and about His actions. He is the one who is above everything else in all the earth. He is faithful, merciful, loving, and strong! He rescues and saves His children. He fights for the weak and He provides for the needy. All of these good traits are wrapped up in the name of the Lord. When we call upon His name, we are trusting and believing that God is who He says He is. Take a moment to thank Him for who He is and all that He has done for you. God loves you. Have a blessed day.
